The Community/Channel Editor can be used to edit the community/channel content XML file. This tool helps community/channel stewards ensure that the community/channel content XML is valid according to the XML Schema Definition (XSD).
It also helps a steward:| 1 | On the left side of the NED Portal home page, below the login section, there is a link | Create new account! |

| 2 | Fill out the form with your user name and password. |

| 6 | After logging in, click on | Manage my profile | |||||||
| 7 | Fill out the contact information form. | ||||||||

| 1 | Log into the NED Portal | |
| 2 | On the left navigation bar, under My Functions | My Functions |
| 3 | Click on Manage My Channels to open it's submenu | Manage my Channels |
| 4 | On the sub menu, click on Download Channel Editor | Download Channel Editor |
| 5 | Download the channel_editor.zip file to the Temp folder on your computer. | |
| 6 | Open the channel_editor.zip file on your computer and extract the contents. | |
| 7 | Double click on the setup.exe file from the extracted the contents. | |
| 8 | Follow the instructions on the screen. There is no need to change any default values The GIS Portal Channel Editor - Install wizard will appear. |

| 9 | Click next. Click the button next to the left of the I accept the terms in the license agreement. |

| 10 | Click next. The Customer Information dialog box will appear. Enter your customer information in the User Name and Organization text boxes. |

| 11 | Under Install this application for, select Anyone who uses this computer (all users) | |
| 12 | Click next, then Next again.
Click Install. Click Finish to exit the installation program. |
